Ruder Finn and PRWeek partner to spotlight the next generation of AI-driven communications talent
Three winners will each receive a $1,500 award and national industry recognition
NEW YORK — February 27, 2026 — Ruder Finn, one of the world’s largest independent global communications and integrated marketing agencies, this week launched the Ruder Finn / PRWeek AI Innovation Challenge, a national competition inviting undergraduate students to imagine what’s next for artificial intelligence in communications. The challenge calls on students to propose an original, AI-powered solution designed to help communications agencies deliver stronger, smarter outcomes for clients. By engaging emerging talent from across the country, Ruder Finn aims to surface bold, practical ideas that demonstrate how AI can elevate the future of the communications industry.
Submissions will be evaluated by PRWeek and senior industry leaders including: Kathy Bloomgarden, Ruder Finn CEO, Zack Kass, Global AI Advisor and Former Head of Go-to-Market at OpenAI, Tejas Totade, Ruder Finn CTO and Head of AI, and more. Each of the three winning entrants will receive a $1,500 prize to further pursue their interests in AI within the communications field and inclusion in a PRWeek feature, along with valuable visibility across the industry. The entry portal will remain open through Tuesday, March 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET. The three winning entries will be announced the week of May 11.
